Do you have mods here?

I have seen some threads in the wrong place, and until the thread was deleted the other day, there was one that needed badly to be in rave/ranting, but was in other topics. Do you all have mods here to do this, I cant imagine Adm's doing it all with this many members.

i think there might just be moderators.

threads being in a slightly wrong place doesnt really bother anyone.
the ranting an raving usually is on topics that would likely get people pissed, not just having an argument between 2 or 3 people. and eventually a thread might get moved to R&R after some legitimate misdirection ensues
overall, ill like the way this forum is moderated, everything isnt cut and dry and anal retentively organized. there is flexability. makes a forum seem more intelligent.
and i like the sometimes slow responses, gives me a chance to see what all the hoopla is about

The problem is here, it seems void of character and activity, for a board that had billions of members and 10-15 members on at once and 25 guest. Just seems dead compared to the other boards I go to, they arent nearly as big?

Erm... it's a tech support site.
There's only so much personality involved while telling people how to port forward their routers and install a new video card and whatnot.

It's a problem? I don't see it as a problem...
You see, the nature of free tech support sites like ours is that most users register, ask a question, then disappear forever. I don't see us as having billions of members (I actually prune the number of members regularly, and only keep those who have at least 1 post to their name, otherwise, our member count would already exceed 75,000 by now).
Most of our guests hit us via Google. They do a search, find a link to our site, find their answers, then move on... We usually get more than a few thousand unique visitors a day, so it's no wonder we have hundreds of guests online at any moment.
As for character and activity, you're looking at a site that has been here for almost 5 years. We have been through very busy times, and through very slow times. You can't really accurately judge a site's "character" when you've only been registered here less than a month
I am sure the other boards you go to are buzzing with activity and they sometimes have a hard time keeping up ... if we wanted to be like HardOCP, we would have designed our site and our forums to emulate them ... but we're just a volunteer tech support site. We don't earn money doing this thing, so we're pretty content on just helping people one person at a time...

Ascii is the way to go for that, red. OOH yeah.
Honestly, I hafta say that I like the moderation around here. I know I've been a dick for quite some time, but all it took was some 'other' moderation on another board to make me realize that, hell, it's not bad around here.
But uh, yeah, there are mods, and they're good mods. They get the job done. You can't expect them to instantly react to something out of place and fix it instantly, like some kind of freakish ant colony inhabitant.
