What the heck? I do not understand AMD what so ever!

I baught this:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProdu...-116-183&depa=0
and this:
http://www.fatal1ty.com/fat_store/f...otherboard.aspx
and im getting this:

...and people said "NO, NO, GET THIS!"
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProdu...-103-486&depa=0

The specs are worse on the 3000+ even though it is 64 bit. I do not really run any 64 bit apps though.

Please educate me about AMD 64 vs LGA 775.

a bit confusing there....the AMD 64 has been getting faster speeds than equivalent pentium processors in gaming. However, with applications intel ggeneraly beats AMD...
Remember i am talking about equivalent processors. I am not sure, but with most games... i think the intel proc you have "baught" might beat the amd in gaming because they are not equivalent. I think the amd 3200(1mb L2 cache) is on par with the 3.2 E...

THe specs are not as bad as you think...processor speed and L2 cache dont really mean that a proc is better than the other...

I would have went for this:

But thats just my opinion because i like amd...your processor is perfectly okay!

All the statements i made are general and might not apply to all games and applications!

THat motherboard is extremely expensive!!! Those 2 fans look very nice though....and would be very handy if you are into overclocking...If i were you i would get a cheaper motherboard(with less features) and get a better graphics card(make sure it is PCI-express)...I assume you are into gaming?

hardcore into gaming that is

thank you VERY much for your reply!!

Ya i whould do the same, that motherboard is soaking up 100$ that can be spent on a graphics card. I dont see any amazing features on it either.

no problem

This is a comparison between amd 64 and intel with doom 3 gaming...amd reigns with the higher end CPUs ,but your card does fine at 1280 x 1204 .....better than the amd 3000....So you are in good hands...This may differ in other games, but i am pretty sure there will be not a lot of difference. And it wont be worth the hassel of an exchange!

Hardcore gamer huh? Lol...you definitely want to spend more on the GPU!
