im connected through a wireless smc router... whenever im surfing the net, its working fine. however, whenever im gaming, i get d/c occasionally. on other occasions, it lags the game badly... my guess is that theres a badwidth restriction on it. if so, can i have some help here to config the restirctions? or even totally removing it.

Depending on your operating system, you might be able to get better performance by tweaking your MTU settings. You can run some of the test here..

i did this test and changed the mtu to 1500 and enabled TCP timestamping ... however it seems like it has no effect still... so im wondering if i could get some help with the "Tweakable Settings", "Test 146000 byte download", and "ICMP (ping) check" whether they are looking fine.

thx

nice help there btw

Have you checked for a firmware update for the router? That may help out with the performance hiccups you're having.

nope, haven done so... is it possible to get the update online or do i have to get my technician to check it out?

There may be updates for the router, or even the wireless cards. It's worth a look as wireless devices tend to be flakey.
