System Restarts automatically after installing GFX 128MB Graphics card

Hi,

I'm using AMD 2400+ Processer and VIA motherboard. Recently i've added
GFX 128MB Graphics card to the system and installed the driver. It was working fine
for few days. After that, the system automatically reboots too often. Sometimes,
the system works fine for 20 to 30 minutes, then automatically shutdown. After few minutes
automatically it boots again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Most of the times, the system reboots with in 2 minutes. So, i tried with the following options
to stop this.. but still it's giving the same problem. All the below mentioned options were failed.

1. Detached the GFX card and uninstalled the driver.
2. Changed the auto reboot (if any boot failure) option in Win XP.
2. Removed Win XP and formatted the primary partition.
3. Changed the CMOS battery.
4. Again installed Win 98 (some how i could able to do it).

If you have come across the same kind of problem, please help me in this problem.

Other Details:
WindosXP,256MB DDR-RAM.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like it could be:

1. System heat. Newer graphic cards put out a lot more heat. Check your temps. Run with the case lid off for a while and see if it becomes stable.

2. Power drain. A new grpahics card will also draw more power. The minimum today is 350Watts. More if you have a lot of peripherals.

3. Driver. You also might want to install the latest VIA chipset driver.

Another thing you might do is restart and hit F8. Select disable automatic restart so you can see if there is any blue screen you're getting. If so, it might help you track down the cause. If you're not getting a blue screen, I would suspect hardware, power, or heat.

Go to control panel and see what is in your power options..... or google the problem......
