I had some hardwareproblems with my PS2 mouse and did a system restore.Since then I can't access NIS although it seems to be getting updated regularly in the background.(Ican see the live update icon of and on in the toobar).I some how can't access internet and now I am in a terrible mess .I can't uninstall NIS from my system with add /remove programme in control panel-some how system can't access the relevant files although I have put in the NIS CD-ROM in the drive.

Could some one guide me out of this problem.

P.S-I can access internet through my wireless laptop. It is the desktop that gives me the bother! Thanks

If you're on SP2, check the firewall settings. Also check the Norton Firewall settings if you're using that instead.
