Hi!

As I dont know what you planning to do really? Listen to the mp3:s from your PC through the stereo or recording old cassettes and vinyl records?

If it is recording vinyl to cd, you are planning, you first need a good recording software.

Steinberg Clean (Or Pinnacle Clean), is very good. I have used it for a couple of years now with very good results.

And Clean, have a real accurate cutting tool, for cutting up recorded files into separate tracks.

It have tons of filters for sound inprovement. I use those filters to restore / improve MP3 files.

Then you need a cable with 2 RCA plugs for the AUX / tape. And a headphone miniplug in the other end.

This you connect to "Mic" on your soundcard.

Then go to Control panel and check the sound settings, making sure that "Mic" is enabled.

Then you just configure Clean and start to record.

For playing MP3:s from your harddrive, I guess you will have to get a cable with 2 plugs for PC speakers and 2 RCA plugs in the other end for your stereo.

I have never done this myself, so I dont know if there are any such premade cables?
Or if you have to have one custom made for you?

Recording tip:

If you have many meters between your stereo and your PC. You can plug a stereo VCR to "Tape" on your stereo and record whatever you are planning to make CD:s of.
Then unhook the VCR and plug it into the PC. (Mic in).

This a friend of mine use to do with great results.
He have done some very nice CD:s of broadcasted Live conserts, that otherwise, never had ended up on CD!

Hope you find this useful?
