Doom 3 - Need Help Please.

I just recently bought doom 3 a day ago, came home, uninstalled counter-strike to make more room for this game, and tried to play it.
It installed fine and everything and than when it was loading the game, it minimized and a screen saying what was found and what was not came up saying "ERROR: The current video card / driver combination does not support the necessary features"

I have a 64 NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64/Model 64 Pro
could it be that I only have 256 ram?
Please help me out. thanks
Travis

You should read the minimum requirements for a game before you buy it, they're listed on the box.

A TNT2 is way too old to run Doom 3, and 256 MB of ram is pretty poor too.

Basically your options are to return the game, or buy enough parts for your computer (video card, ram, possibly motherboard and cpu) to make it fast enough to run the game.

I am probably going into a computer shop after x-mas break, how much do you think it would cost me to fix my comp to get the game working?

thanks for your help.

That really depends on which parts need to be replaced and how much you're willing to spend. I'm not really into prices these days but for that game, I'd guess at least $200, possibly much more.
