i have a problem with sims2 i relli wanna play it but a screen keeps on popping up!!! i got the directx 9.0 but it says: PLEASE TYPE THE LOCATION WHERE YOU WANT TO PLACE THE EXTRACTED FILES.
but i dunno where to put it..

I'm assuming that you're running the DX 9.0c installer from the Sims 2 CD and that's why it's asking you where to put the files (obviously they can't be extracted to the CD). Usually the DirectX installers automatically place the files in some directory in the Windows directory although I don't remember where. To be on the safe side, I'd extract them to a directory like C:\directx and see if that works.
If it doesn't, download DX 9.0c from http://www.microsoft.com/directx and use that installer. It should automatically place the files where they need to be.
