DVDs to CD-Rs Question

I have a dvd player installed on my pc but I don't have a dvd burner.I do have a CD burner though but my question is can I copy a dvd to a cd-r using my cd burner?

many different ways. converting to mpg cd or avi cd or vcd or a couple of svcds. depends on how powerful your computer is and what processor and video card you have and how many hours you want to wait and what quality you want the rip to be at and how much hard drive space you have and how fast you hard drive is and what type of dvd player you want it to play in and whether or not that dvd player is region free and/or attached to a computer, etc etc etc
many many different ways.
