I got doom 3 and found out my video card wouldn't support it. Purchased a new card today (Radeon 9550) that cleared up the open gl problem. Upgraded to 512 Ram and now when I start the game it loads a black screen for a few seconds and then just goes back to the desktop

You computer can't support it. Check if your card is still installed on the comp.
