chat room problem

hi i am having problems with getting part of the chat room i work in to refresh after i hae clicked on one of the buttons.
i have windows xp with IE 6 and the chat room "owner" had me upload netscape 4.8 as he sadi the IE doesn't work well witht he site, i have uploaded the most recent java stuff and followed their instructions on making sure the java is working so i don't know what else to do
i give informationa nd answer questions in the room and on th ebottom half of the page there are buttons for extending time, when i click on one of those buttons and extend time the lower half of the page does not refresh and in order to take another call i have to close out of my room and come back in. i can refresh my whole page butstillnothin in the lower half comes back, thanks for any help in advance, and i guess i am a medium user not a techy by any means but i have had so many problems i have to go to know a little about my compuer in general,. I also called Dell and they didn't know what was going on either. thanks Shanon

in all seriousness, the "owner" needs to fix the site so that it works properly with all major browsers. if your java appears to be working properly outside of the site, its a bug in the coding for his site, nothing you can do about it. if your java has similar quirks elsewhere, download an older version.
