Is This a common Problem?

I use XP Professional with Service Pack 2. Of late I seem to have an odd problem. When I try to install some software( Not all), I get this message:

16 bit Windows Subsystem
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applicatons. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

The funny thing is, it works fine in XP home and older Windows OSs. Any suggestions?

Yes, it has been a common problem in the last few months because some adware or spyware program keeps removing the file. Look here for a solution:
