cannot install directx 9.0c

when i try to install directx 9.0c its completed instantly but directx 9.0c is not installed .ihave tried downloading the latest nvidia drivers 66.93 but it still doesnt work .downloading it from microsoft website also doesnt work.if it helps i use a geforce fx 5700. email me at basilisham@yahoo.com if you can solve my problem.
