Xbox Dead!

My Xbox is just dead. It doesn't respond to anything. I turned it on and started playing Halo 2 but after a few seconds it turned off and stopped working. I tried to turn it on again and it sorta..struggled. it turned on, then off a few seconds later a few times, then it stayed on and the red light started flashing. Then the next day I tried turning it on again and it just didn't turn on at all. no lights, nothin. I contacted Microsoft support and they gave me the whole " cord and electricity jack " spheal. but of course that didn't work. I doubt theres any easy solution to this, but I really don't want to send it in. So any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx
