When I turn on the PC, a Windows media player 9 window opens with no CD or DVD disc installed in the drives. How do I prevent this from happening ?
I am using windows XP home edition
Thanks

This should work
1) Go to the Start menu
2) Go to "Run" and type "msconfig" then click go
3) Click on the tab labeled "Startup"
4) Find a startup item called "wmplayer" and uncheck the box next to it
5) Click "Ok" and then choose to restart your PC
I'm not sure what else it could be if this does not solve it.

thanks. in msconfig, there is no file called wmplayer or anything that resembles media player. Do you have any idea what the appropriate file may be named ??
