page file location tips?

would i benefit from putting windows xp pagefile on my second sata hdd instead of the drive that windows is on? im looking for performance tweaks for gaming. thanks, happy new year!

I doubt it. You probably aren't even touching the swapfile much with as much memory as you have. If the game is on a different drive than the swapfile is on now, then it's probably more optimal to leave it where it's at.

well, did you want to wait for the second drive to spin up every time it needs to access the swap file? aside from that, what performance increase would you expect from a page file located on a drive other than the system drive?

sometimes you can gain page file performance by splitting the page file across two physical drives (but not partitions on the same drive). But like Ion said, you probably don't even use the file that much with as much RAM as you have
