PROBLEM with my wireless controller

I bought a Mad Cats wireless controller and for some reason the dang thing wont work on my playstation. I called sony and they are going to charge me 80 $$$$$ to try and fix the problem. I thought maybe there was a problem with the controller so I tried to use it on my friends PS2 and it works fine. The controller also works on my PS1. I want to know if anybody has had a similar problem and what you did to fix it. Or if you have any tips at all I would like to hear from you

No affence or anything but Mad Catz is the most crappiest company,next time get a Logitech controller thats what i use and it works great! hmm i cant seem to picture how it wouldnt work
