hi i have a dvd player that is hooked correctly and was playing fine until my daughter pushed some buttons now all you see is blue screen but you can hear the sound. this player is only two weeks old.

Check your manual, see if the DVD player is both PAL and NTSC compatible, if it is then it is likely she accidentally swtiched formats from NTSC to PAL (If you put a DVD from north america (NTSC) into a DVD player set for PAL you'll end up with a mess).
This may or may not be the problem, just thought I'd try to help.
