Computer Freeze after Login to internet

I am running XP Pro, with SP2 installed. I have Norton AntiVirus 2005, and have just run a system scan (which came back with no bad files). Last week, I installed SBC DSL software, and started an account. Shortly after installing the SBC software, I uninstalled it, except for the parental controls. I am using Mozilla FireFox for my browser. When the computer freezes, I get this message in my system log:The IPSEC Services service terminated with the following error:
An invalid argument was supplied.
What in the world can I do to correct this?

no clue. 
run all maintenance programs, and clear out the junk, including viruses and spyware. do not solely depend on norton to detect and remove things.
obviously, the next step is to remove the parental controls and whatever else is left of the sbc software. after taht, youll either have to do a repair install or track down the exact problem.

I would just like to say; I'm a minimalist, so to me it seems like you have an awful lot of useless stuff on your PC, but I digress. Secondly, you should be congratulated because your computer is clear of any malware or spyware that I can see, and that is indeed a rare thing.
Now there's still the problem about his SBc software screwing up his IPSec service ... Have you tried calling SBC and seeing if they have had any reports of people getting similar problems and what they did to solve them ?
It does seem that although you uninstalled part of the SBC program, there is still an awful lot of entries in your HijackThis profile that would indicate it's not really gone ...
