I need help with ps2 microphone

When i play metal of honor rising sun online, and i have the microphone plugged, the microphone that is plugged in is the one with the mute botton on it, i can hear other people talking, but when i say something no one responds to me, and when everyone else talks, the talk bubble on the screen lights up blue and shows the name of who is talking, but when i talk, my name doesn't show up, and i don't know if my name is supposed to show up, Also when i plugged this into my cpu in worked perfectly, so can someone please help!
