Lots Of Things To Say :o

Hi folks, I got a long story for YOU,

My old computer blew out, so I built a new one, and was patiently waiting for the video card to be released that went with my motherboard. The release date came, and nothing changed, still a week after the release date, nothing was happening. I called up the company and found out they discontinued the idea of the videocard (Fatal1ty X700XT), and are now working on manufacturing the Fatal1ty X800XT!! It is said to probably be released in march, but im not going to wait another few months for this card, because I can not use my computer until then.

Also, I have decided.. well I have used Intel processors all my life I want to try AMD!! So, after all the millions of hours of research I did to put this system I have here together (without a video card), I think I might take it apart and put everything back in the box and sell it on ebay or something, or I could just get a different video card, but hey.. I think I really want to try AMD, but hmm... maybe I should just get a different Abit videocard, and wait till the FX-55 gets cheaper, but how long will that be, and how much will that decrease the value of the unused parts I have in my system? ..or I could buy a video card and sell the whole machine together on ebay, and then start over and buy AMD stuff. This is such a nightmare, I wish my old computer never blew out! I just don't know what to do now because my plans have tottally been blown off track!
heh..

List of things I have:
Abit Fatal1ty AA8XE motherboard

Intel P4 LGA775 540 3.2GHz 800MHz FSB Hyper Threading processor (w/ default Intel processor fan)

Two 512mb Kingston HyperX Series DDR500(PC4000) memory

Silver V-Tech Mesh EC-7104 Mid-Tower ATX Computer Case w/ Front 2 USB, Audio, MIC
Features: Three blue lights in the front panel. Three side filter papers attached to the up, left and right side panels to protect from dust. Four metals handles.

Enermax EG465P-VE (FCA) 431WATT Switching Power Supply
http://www.coolmaxx.com/enegf43pswfa.html

Two blue LED case fans

These are some of THE BEST Intel based gaming products available without spending over $1000 on each individual thing.

All of this together cost me $999 not including shipping. I think that is how much I will charge since nothing has been used. I will pay for shipping, and I did the (free) assembly, so all you need to do is put in a video card.
ABIT ATI Radeon X700 PRO may be a good affordable choice at $207

If your interested in purchasing, you can email me at moonsetflies@bendcable.com

or if you have any brilliant ideas you would like to share with me, then I would love to hear your reply to this thread! THANKS OTS!!!

just get a cheap video card for a while and thats it

if you're really set on going to AMD, you can keep the RAM and case. You can keep the PSU as well, depending on what AMD setup you're going to use. The new nForce4 S939 boards use 24-pin ATX power connectors, and while they're setup to be backwards compatable with 20-pin connectors, I've heard that it really isn't recommended.

But really, I think it would be less of a headache if you just got a video card for your current hardware

just buy a pci-e video card that will suit your long term purposes. abit is hardly the only manufacturer of pci-e video card, much less the best one.

you WILL lose money if you try to sell the system. no one in their right mind will pay you the same as they would newegg, or even close to it.

Okay, I have decided I will stick with my computer until the FX-55 goes down under $1000, and I will get the Gainward PowerPack! Ultra /1960 PCX XP 128MB "Golden Sample" GLH video card for now... but sad thing, I can not find this video card for sale within the united states! I would love some assistance
thnx

ps. it is important that it is the PCIexpress GLH model.

to the best of my knowledge, the golden samples are european and not intended for the us market. find a card that newegg carries, the golden sample series is just overclocked by gainward.
