PC100 and PC133 SDRAM Compatible?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: marslynx

I have a Compaq Presario 1200XL106 notebook with:

475 MHz AMD-K6-2 Processor
64 MB 100 MHz SDRAM (max 160 MB)

Now for the question, can I use PC133 SDRAM (backwards compatible?)?

Or am I stuck with using PC100 SDRAM?

My Presario 5005R can use either, but if you have a mixture of pc100 and pc133, I believe it will run at the slower (pc100) speed. I do not know about your specific machine. You might try Crucial's Memory Advisor.
