Well I recently bought a new motherboard, CPU chip, and videocard, because i screwed up my other motherboard and CPU. Well after i put it in it wouldnt work, the hard drive says error loading operating system. So i tryed to reinstall windows but it wont because of the new hardware, it says put back the other old hardware but i cant because its broken. SO WHAT DO I DO???

Hi!

This Windows disc of yours.
Is this some kind of recovery version, that came with your old gear?

you need to partition and format the drive, then install the standard version of xp. recovery disks and special install disks wont work.

the next time a pc says it comes with recovery/install disks, run quickly the other way.

Your'e so right Red!

Recovery discs, Yay!

My very first PC was a Compaq , with a 800 Hz AMD Duron and the amazing amount of 64! mb SDR RAM

I can't remember the model, but it had a kind of plastic frame around the front.
And a plastic "glove compartment" for CD:s. That from time to time opened by itself.

This "beaut" had such a recovery CD.

God god!

Never again!!!
