*I get crashes in middle of game on Starcraft*
Whenever I would play a game on Starcraft, it would crash on me in the middle of the game. Even on Online and Single Player Mode. Also, I have Window XP and a Nvidia GeForce MX-400 video card. How can I fix it?
One of the thing I was about to do is to update my driver on my Video Card, Nvidia GeForce MX-400. This update driver specializes on Windows XP but I dont know if I should do it because I just brought this computer and I dont want to mess it. So I need your guys opinion on this.
Thanks in advance.

You probably should update the driver, that might fix the problem. If the driver is for Windows Xp, then it would be needed, for the video card.

Okay.. Thanks!

Just to let you know what driver I am going to use, it is called "Detonator XP v21.81 Windows XP/2000." Hopefully it will fix the problem with the crashes on Starcraft.
Also, I skim though the Technical Brief and it says the driver mostly covers how it improves the graphics.
Ummm... I think I am going to do it now.. Laterz.. Ill let you know if it works or not.

Anymore ideas?
Maybe soon they will make a patch for it.
Thanks!

Please try the following steps:
1. Make sure you have the latest version of DirectX from
http://www.microsoft.com/directx.
2. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your Video and Sound
cards.
You'll want to check with your computer manufacturer or the Video/Sound
card
manufacturer's website for the current drivers that match the model of
card
you have in your system. A list of manufacturers with contact
information
can be found at
http://www.blizzard.com/support/inf.../vendors.shtml.
3. Before starting the game, make sure there are no other programs
running
in the background except for Explorer & Systray. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to
see a
list of programs running in the background.
4. Uninstall the game, download and run RegClean from
http://download.cnet.com/downloads/...g=st.dl.10001-1
03-1.lst-7-1.881470, reboot your computer, reinstall the game and then
apply
the patch (if applicable) for the game you are going to play. All of
our
current patches can be found at http://www.blizzard.com/patches.
5. It's also a good idea to run ScanDisk and Disk Defragmenter to
ensure
that your hard drive is operating at optimal performance.
6. Delete the bncache.dat file(s) if one or more exist on your hard
drive.
7. Our games run in 640 x 480 with 256 colors. Try setting your desktop
to
this resolution before starting the game.
8. Make sure all Power Management settings are disabled or turned off.
If
you have a screensaver, set it to "None" before playing the game.
9. Run the System File Checker to scan for damaged or missing files in
Windows by clicking on Start, go to Run and type "sfc" without the
quotes.
Follow the prompts to check the integrity of your files.
10. Make sure your version of Windows has all the latest updates by
checking
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com.
If you continue to have errors, please attach any .err files in the
StarCraft folder on your hard drive to this email and send them to us
so we
can see what the problem is.
Keep in mind that Starcraft was not originally designed to work with
Windows
2000\ME\XP.
Thanks for writing,
Jason S.

Windows XP is not out yet.
It really just sounds like a beta problem. I'd say, wait until the real thing comes out.

Alright... Its going to out soon anyways... 16 days more 'till its out.
