Math in Microsoft Word

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Does anyone know an easy way to show equations and other math stuff on microsoft word 2000?

Whenever I want to type exponents I always to go to FORMAT then FONT then SUPERSCRIPT and then I write the exponent, then I go back to undo superscript to continue writing the other part of the equation that are not exponents.

I see math textbooks having equations and fractions typed easily, but when I do it in Microsoft Word I type it 4/9 instead of the number 4 over the 9 as if you would write it manually. There must be somethiing that can generate math equations easily.

You need to add the Equation Editor component to MS Word.

Look at this.

Also here.

Do as shown in this picture and add in the Microsoft Equation Editor to MS Word.

Continue to the post below to use the Equation Editor.

Ok thx, but I don't have the microsoft word CD so I can't install it. I might be able to borrow it from someone, but that might not be until a while. Any other alternatives?

Yes. Create your own document template with custom styles. Look in the Word Help to see how.
