Need For Speed Underground 2 CD Key

Recently after purchasing the new Need For Speed game; Underground 2, I decided to have a look at the online setup for it so i logged into my EA account and the game asked me to authenticate my CD key with my account i clicked yes and then it told me it couldn't authenticate the CD key, can someone help me out here, i tried the EA Games tech support but that was no help at all. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
