Computer Keeps Freezing When I go to "My Computer"

Can anyone help me please. My computer freezes everytime I go to "my computer" or "search" . Also I need some help with my processes in the Task Manager. A lot of thing run when i start up my computer and I dont want all them running, but dont know how to change it. If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it.
