is it possible to reinstall windows 2000 pro without losing the system info or files? i have an evaluation version installed now but i want to install a full version...

Yes, it should be possible, but if the evaluation period has closed then you might have problems.
Where did you get evaluation version??????
Normally reinstalling would be done on top what the old one, the progs that you had there before will not work, yopu would have to reinstall them too.
Try during the installation update option, BUT........ Use LINUX to save on a USB mass storage devive any important data (folders/files) or CD. The Linux you would be using should be bootable via CD and not to be installed. Use Knoppix, Slax....etc
as long the computer is set via the BIOS to boot from CD too.

If you are not a computer nerd or pro as a computer nerd to do it for you.
Well a pro would charge lots of money...
