Hi!
I have Win XP pro installed on my PC.
Now I have borrowed a Win 2000 pro, from a friend, for evaluation.
Interested to see how Win 2000 really works,. Because I have read, that 2000 is great for gaming for ex. and less resource hog than XP?
My problem is this: When trying to install the Win 2000, I get a message, that says that I'm trying to install an older Windows version on my harddrive. and this will be impossible.
How do I do, to work around this, and install Win 2000 on a separate drive?

you have to install the older os first, i believe. you might be able to get it to install if you disconnect the drive containing the os, although i wouldnt bet on it working.....
xp is a resource hog at defaults, but its core is the same as 2k. they fixed some bugs, added compatablity, etc for xp. the extra hogs you can mostly turn off. the main difference you will notice is you might have to do some serious fiddling to get 2k to work properly with certain games. with the exception of the mutant that was ME, all the os windows put out have been real upgrades over the previous.

Hi Redwench!
Thanks for the tips!
I shall try unhooking the win xp disc.
But if that doesnt work, or anybody else can't come up with a really clever soloution to install Win 2000, I forget about the whole thing!
