Guy brought over his old laptop tonight it is a travelex 100 266. Said a guy worked on it for him and couldn't get it fixed. So I say ok let's look at it. Well I open the laptop and out falls the keyboard/pad into my lap pick up the pad and lay it on the desk and next thing I see is no memory on the board. Getting mad for this fellow now. Look around in my boxes of stuff and no memory for him to borrow Well I say let's see what else is wrong with it, and then the list grows from there checked the harddrive out and it's cable was unplugged, then got to looking and screws missing everywhere. Needless to say I just put everything back in his case and layed it on my things to do shelf. Told him to get with his friend and get his memory back and bring it to me and then I would look at it in earnest for him.
I hate when someone does someone like this. I have a professional shop I trade business with when I can't get something going in a timely manor and they send locals my way for system builds and such. I have never been afraid to say I don't know in this ever changing world of computers, I live in a small community and most of the folks stuff I work on either know me or work with me, and I like being able to help people. I don't charge alot for my time and parts.
I think I'm finished rambling just mad at folks taking someone for a ride and charging them for a non fixed unit. No fix no charge for me.
Thanks,
Silverfinder
