Why do I get the message .."not enough memory".......after my computer has been running for around 10-12 hours straight? The only way to get rid of the message is to restart my computer. I have 256 meg. of RAM and use an 800 mgHz. on Windows ME. Do I need to purchase more memory to get rid of this problem? Thank you!!

Purchasing more memory would probably allow your PC to run for longer periods, but would not solve the fundamental problem, which is Windows ME.

Upgrading your OS to something like 98 or XP might help, too.

An easier option is to disable any "extra" programs that might be running in the background of your PC. Again, this is treating the symptoms but not the cause.

Windows 98 would be a downgrade from ME, technically, kermit_fr0gg. However, I would run Win98 over ME any day.

Things that can cause memory leaks: virus, spyware, adware, badly-written programs.
