mixed up user files

My documents and settings folders are all mixed up, first of all I have 2 instead of 1,one says documents and settings, the other says documents and settings.000. On top of all this all the sub folders are divided among the 2, is there anyway to get them to just one folder again?

just open them both up, and drag the contents of one to the other.

are you saying that for every file in one folder there's a copy in the other folder?

no, local settings is in one, and temp folder is in another
