Your favorite song of 2004

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I dont remember seeing anyone making a thread around new years about this. So here is one.

Mine: Modest Mouse - Float On

Mainly because it was something different.

Others I considered:

Jay-Z/Linkin Park - Numb/Encore
Gwen Stefani - What You Waiting For
Ll Cool J - Headsprung
Snoop Dogg/The Doors - Riders on the Storm
Kanye West - All Falls Down
Drowning Pool - Step Up
Seether /w Amy Lee - Broken
Beastie Boys - Ch-Check it Out
D12 - American Psycho II
Incubus - Megalomaniac
No Doubt - Its My Life

One song that came out in 2004 that I didnt hear til 2005 was Green Day - Boulevard of Broken Dreams. I bought the CD and then lost it shortly after, unfortunately. And thats my current favorite song.

P Diddy - Vote or Die

Was really happy to see that Megadeth released a new album in 04. I'd have to go with Back in the Day or Die Dead Enough off that one.

oddly enough this was the one song that made me stop listening to modest mouse. looks like a good time to stop too - the older cds skyrocketed in value

Yeah you rright, that was 2003. It came out very late 2003 though.

The winner isn't really a new song... just something that was released in 04.

Frank Zappa- "Chunga Basement" from the dvda release Quadiophiliac

Great music made even better by dvd audio. Frank is the man.

Runners up:

Joe Satriani: Is There Love in Space?
Joe Satriani: I Like the Rain
Mark Knopfler: Postcards From Paraguay

Nice job mentioning the Snoop/Doors tune. I recently found out that The Doors paid Snoop $50k to record that. Interesting.

Duality--- Slipknot
a subtle melody that summons images of fluffy kitties and puppy dogs

crossfade - so cold

-matt

Broken- Seether/ Amy Lee
Black Dollar Bills- Hope of the States

Posted by: Freak

jet - look what you've done

the killers - the whole album is worth the listen, but no single song stands out though.

Posted by: uh...ok

Maroon 5 - She Will Be Loved
Three Doors Down - Away From the Sun

Sure, I doubt either one came out in 2004, but they were the songs this year that I have the most memories about, good and bad.
