Cd Autorun Failure

Using a pentium 4 2.4 with XP Pro and just lately both my CD and Burner Drives will not auto run on any disk. The disks are however accepted by the computer but need me to go into Windows Explorer and manually run them. ie by hitting setup or music track etc
Using Windows help, I have in My Computer, right clicked on the drives/ properties/autoplay and hit properties and tried everything, including the default dot which in prompt me to choose an action.
So wonder if anyone can help please?
