I was just wondering what anti virus app is better? Some told me that there was a test that showd AVG free edition is 2nd place after norton (not free). I own McAfee full version but If AVG is free and better il use it. Does any one know?

Thanks alot.

I use AVG (the free one ) and have done so for the last 3 years with no problems it great !!!!!!!!

avg is indeed free. whether one av is better than another is usually a matter of opinion. they all detect 99% of the same stuff, and they all miss the odd one.

i will say that i run avg regularly, with periodic sweeps with online scans from others, including symantec and trendmicro. the online scans have never found anything that avg missed

Ok thanks. I have been testing AVG For the past 4 days and I can see that its good, but there is a problem in the searches, its slow. I remember from McAfee that I liked the speed of the tests, in AVG its kinda slow. But its ok becuase its free.

I have test AVG for the last 5 years and I am really satisfied with it. I have now the new free version AVG7 and there seem to be a little problem auto connecting for updates but it eventually connect by itself. They will probably fix that too sometimes.

AVG 7 Free is one of the few complete Free Antiviruses....i have been using AVG since it was in version 6, it has good detection rates and small sized updates which are, again, free....
i havent encountered any problem with AVG...
for complete protection, i recommend these freewares:-
AVG 7 Free
ZoneAlarm Free Firewall
SpyBot SnD
AdAware
