Links not opening in outlook

I'm having two problems , first when I try to open a link from within an e-mail (Outlook 2000) nothing happens. It doesn't open the link but it doesn't even give me an error message. Also if I click on an .WDZ file nothing happens, I've verified that the associations are set up, so I'm thinking there is a flag set somewhere that needs to be unset. Any help will be appreciated.
