I just joined the club and not only am I 62 years old this month but I've been working in electronics since 1959. My first job in computers was in 1968. My formal electronics training was in the Navy and believe it or not was mostly tubes.

I'm afraid you're not the oldest guy on the block. I'm nearly 68 years old and only started with computers a couple of years ago. So you're the guy I've been looking for to solve a small problem we have. After a serious repair action I had to redownload some software that was lost with the repair. We made a backup of the details of our " Householdbooklet" software on diskettes and now we do not seem to be able to get that data back on our computer. Can you help a fellow senior citizen? Paul

Hello,I am 55,completely computer illiterate as of 1 1/2 year ago.Mostly self taught, but that can go only so far(like learning a new language just from books).so I'm looking for patient answers to dull questions & try to return the favor whenever possible.Ignorance is not stupidity ,unless you let it be.Regards.Dominique.

OMYGOSH, I'm a young 50-something, too. My hats off to Negotiator Smith. He has great knowledge; helped me with animated gifs...Zone Alarm was the culprit and a search from a past post from last year solved the problem. I design web pages and there's times I use animated gifs, and times I make them, so, I'm happy. -Kat
