AIM problem

I have on my laptop aim but just recently it just would not start. I will click on it to start but then nothing will come up. When I checked task manager it won't show up in programs but it will show up in processes and I have to end it. If some one could help i would be happy.

backup your contact list, and anything else you really need, then uninstall aim. do a thorough cleanup of your system, including a repair install of the OS if necessary, then download a fresh version of aim and install it. make sure you include multiple scans for viruses, spyware, trojans, etc on your list.

i did try that, well unintalling it thats is, already. Right now i'm using Trillian, but i don't like it as much as regular aim. Anyway trillian works fine on my laptop so i dont think I have a virus. And I run Adaware, and have norton on it.
