American Dad vs Family Guy

OK if you saw American Dad. And if your a Family Guy fan, do you think American Dad can ever be as good as Family Guy?
I watched American Dad, and I'm a hardcore Family Guy fan. I just don't think it will be as good as Family Guy. There were some good lines but I don't see the characters going as far. What do you people think?

It copied too much from Family Guy. I can't really respect the show for that. It had some funny parts though

Its the latest from Matt Groaning, creator of the Simpsons as well. I thought the show was retarded, none of the characters made an impact on me like family guy's or Simpsons' did. Looking at the brilliance of Bryan and Stewie's characters, nothing in American Dad stacks up to that. Also, the ongoing stupid dad themed show is getting a little old, let's face it, the Simpson's was all about Homer, and you can tell from the titles "Family Guy" and "American Dad" what they are about, maybe its time we found something else to base our humor on.

In the credits they have Seth Macfarlane too who is the creator of Family guy.
I thought it was pretty funny, its much more political than family guy. It does resemble family guy a lot, but you can never have too much of that show.

What? Seth Macfalane is the Creator, and writer for American Dad, not Matt groaning. (he does Futarama)
American Dad was good but will never match FG. Even the new FG episodes won't be as good as the old ones. American Dad didn't have the long funny/random pauses that family guy has
