help with CPU System Idle Process and other issues

Hello, I have a probs cause although I know having my System Idle Process as being high is normal but the issue is that I have a laptop with P4M at 2.2 GhZ, 512 RAM, a Geforce 4 GO at 64 mb but whenever i run even a small game (i.e Risk 2  ) after bout 5 mn, the game slows horribly, not really lagging but just running in slow motion and the only thing using my RAM at the time seems to be the System Idle Process...Perhaps its linked to overheating of my laptop but still, anytime I play any game, or even at random points when browsing or even not doing anything, my comp slows as if it had a tenth of the power it should have...Any help would be most appreciated...

the idle process should use your cpu, not ram to any significant extent.
check your cpu and ram usage during these times, and make sure your page file is a decent size.
