Mapping Gamepad Buttons for FPS

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hi all, this is a problem I've been researching for a while, and I'd appreciate any insight anybody might have. As a result of a car accident, my wife lost the use of her left arm and hand. She has fine motor skills for her right hand. She loves FPS, but is obviously frustrated playing them with the normal keyboard/mouse setup. She has to move her hand from one to the other, so quick movements obviously are out of the question.

One piece of hardware I've tried is the SmartJoy Plus and the One Handed PS2 controller from Lik-Sang.

Some games don't recognize gamepads within the game. Are there any good utilities out there to map the analog controls and/or the buttons to be recognized? I'm going to see if my Nostromo utility will recognize it, but I don't think it will. Also, if anyboy has any other insights into one-handed FPS gaming, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
