Help for Sanitarium

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: josephine

I am trying to install Sanitarium on Windows XP. I have the correct version of the game, but I can't install it. this is the message that I get when the install screen comes on.
C:\Windows\System32\Autoexec.nt
The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.
I have absolutely no clue what to do. Thanks for any help you can give me.
I really want to play this game.

This error indicates that your autoexec.nt file, required for running DOS and 16-bit programs, is missing or corrupted. The file is usually removed or corrupted by adware or spyware. To solve the problem, first scan for spyware with the following two programs:

Ad-aware: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
Spybot: Search and Destroy: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

Once you are confident that you have removed any and all adware/spyware from your system, follow the instructions on this page:

http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;324767

If you follow the steps at that link and the file continues to be removed or corrupted, you still have an adware/spyware problem.
