Hehe - me and you Wolf. I'm a little lazy, so i'm sure you will pass me. How far are you? I'm currently reading an online tutorial (It's actually from a book that's been digitized by the book writer.) and i've only read up on how the hardware works, such as binary code and bits / bytes.
The tutorial can be found here. The name of the book is "Who's Afraid of C++?".
Maybe we can hook up on ICQ and discuss some things, Wolf?

Hi Total Recall
I dont know about me passing you up because your slow Remember Im old .
Anyway I bought a Game Programming Kit, which includes Microsoft Visual C++ version 6.0, Microsoft DirectX 7.0, Genesis 3D SDK Engine and level editor. It also included 2 electronic books. 1 is "Sams Teach yourself C++ 6.0" and "Sams Teach yourself DirectX 7.0." also included is a program called Shadow Realm Animator.
I have only just begun but have done the first two lessons and created a windows box that presents the user with 2 buttons. 1 for information and the other for closing it down. the lesson covered designing the box, buttons and messages etc, even how to design the little icon that is in the upper left corner of all windows.
The next lesson covers standard controls built into window such as drop down menus, edit boxes, check boxes etc.
At the end of each lesson is a summary of what you have learned and a question and answer section followed by a Workshop where they give you a project on what youve learned so far but no directions on how to do it other than what you have just learned.
Thats about as far as Ive gotten so far only got this thing last week Hoping we can hook up maby. I did bookmark that site you told me about and will check it out maby tommorrow, Thanks for the link.

Hmmmm ... right now I'm dabbling in Macromedia Flash and some Perl ... maybe I should also try to learn C++ - might come in handy for server-side applications
Man, so many things to learn, so little time...

Laggy
Dont laugh but I got an idea for a new game and the next question would be, will I ever get it done? Probably not, But oh well Maybe im just getting senile in my old age.
Wolf
PS. If i die before it is finished or I learn c++ and Directx then i guess Ill just have to leave it to you, for you to finish. I know you have more time left than I.

Laggy, I think Wolfy should get to use your avatar
I'm gonna be taking a C++ class at school next year. I'm guessing it will be a lot more useful than the BASIC and FORTRAN classes that thgif"ade me to take first.
