i need help with d2!!!

Some times when i play d2,(all the time). I get this error:
Halt
Location : D2CMP\SRC\Codec.cpp, line #1639
Expression : Error decompressing sprite - Possible corruption in data file: 0CTRlitDThth
ive tried to reinstall it several times but it wont work, but i get an error durring the end of the lod installation.
And ive tried copying some files from the cds but it still gets the error.
Should i just get a new copy?
Help me plz!!!

Uninstall the game. Then do a disk check on your hard drive. Then do a defragment. Clean your CDs, reboot and then reinstall the game. See what happens. If it still doesn't work, then your CDs are probably damaged.
