Not Finalizing Burned CD Ahead Nero5

Hi, well I tried three times to burn a music cd on Ahead Nero5 and after it completes and says it was successful, it spits out my cd. I take the cd to my cd player and it says it is not finalized... I tried using the Nero Express and the Nero- Burning Rom...
Please help me and thank you in advance!

Hi!
When this problem started, did you install Microsoft service pac 2 at the same time?
Why I'm asking, is because Nero 5 have compability issues with SP2.

Try and reinstall Nero. And if you got a lens cleaning cd or sutch, try that too.
See if you can find any updates for your Nero .
Are you really sure, that you have'nt got Service pac 2 installed? It can "dowload itself", thru Windows updates?
Check in Control panel + Add / Remove programs, and see if Service pac 2 is listed there?

Should I try burning with the Express one or just the Nero Burning rom, I already finished unistalling and installing, and you were right, i did have SP2(which i am unistalling now)
This uninstall is taking quite long

Don't uninstall that servicepac!!!
It may create even more problem than just a Nero that's crappy!
What you should do, is trying to find a update for Nero 5. At AHEAD:s home site.

Windows Service pac 2 is a large bundle of updates and security updates for Windows.
If you uninstall it, this may result in that Windows goes down the can too!

Yikes, well like i unistalled part of it and i quickly canceled it thru alt+ctrl+del I dont know if it restored everything or not, but i am getting that update for nero...
Do you think it is possible that i will just get another one of those automatic updates and it will restore w/e i deleted?

Try resetting Windows , using windows restore.
This, before you install any Nero updates.
This is where you find the system restore in Windows:
1. Click Start.
2. Point to All Programs.
3. Point to Accessories.
4. Point to System Tools.
5. Click System Restore.
6. Follow the instructions on the wizard.

You wont get any new, before whole service pac is uninstalled.
Then , Windows update will "give" you a new one I think.
Otherwise you can go thru Windows update yourself, and manually download it.
But first things first. Try resetting Windows as I said earlier.

When you are finished resetting Windows.
Take a look in Add / Remove programs and see if Service pac 2 is there again?
But just look this time ....Hmmm.
If everything is O.K. with Windows. You can download and install the update for Nero.
And if you got a lens cleaner CD, use that one too.
Then try burn a CD, and hopefully it will be allright.

It got messed up b4 i could do anything, but its okay i got it fixed, i'll update nero now

If your update, did'nt do the job, I would uninstall Nero 5 and download a trial of Nero 6 instead, and see if maybe that will do the trick?
And if it works for you. Buy it if you feel that you can afford it. Or try out some free CD burning software instead.

If you still have the same prob with Nero 6. I would buy a lens cleaner CD ( That is if you have'nt got one allready?). A thing you will have good use of anyway.
Also try this Registry repair software:

If you got more than 15 faults after scanning . You have to repair 15, scan again, and repair 15 etc.
Unfortunatly, there is no sutch freeware, so maybe you have a tiresome job ahead of you ?
The last suggestion I have, If nothing of this works, is to get a new burner.

I already uninstalled nero5, i had given up with burning it...I'm going to try the registry fix first and then try the trial v. of nero6. I'll get back to you if it works or not. My last resort will be to buy a lens cleaner, how much do they cost anyway?

Hi again! what I can see, a lens cleaner, cost about 7 USD.
Hope that any of my previous suggestions can solve your prob!?
It's really a pain if you to have to buy a new burner!!!
But if it comes to that, I can recommend NEC, Lite On or LG.
