Should I Use XP x64?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hey ive got a brand new AMD64 system n ive downloaded XP x64 SP1 from microsoft and dual booted it along wiv XP n it seems to work fine,
only thing is i put it on same partition so things like IE have been replaced wiv the 64bit version that dont run but i jus copied it from the x86 programs folder n it work fine,

what i wanted to know was if its a good idea to format n just use Xp x64 as my main OS?
Drivers for my chipset and graphics card are available n my network works fine, so why not huh?

Anyone had any problems with anything not running? Games etc?

yeah its an evaluation copy i got from mcrosoft. 360 day trial

probably not a good idea to use a beta OS solo, unless you dont mind formatting the drive and installing the standard whenever necessary.

well ive got it dual booted at the moment but to use all my progs i have to install them one or the other i think. Dno if i'd actually see much performance improvement or not as at the mo ive not really got any issues wit performance anyway!

i used it, but it is annoying because you will need to find all different versions of the drivers you use

yeah i tried it, i found it a bit funny. the desktop seemed a bit slow.
I downloaded the drivers for my graphics card and board, but i read somewher the benchmarks were slower in games, so maybe the drivers aint up2 standards.

anyhow i thought sod it and just use regular xp pro, why not?
