hi,
i recently bought a 200 gig hardrive and i tried installing it as a master drive. I'm aware that unless i install the hard drive with xp sp1 it wont detect the entire 200 gigs. Is there any way after i install the drive that i can update drivers inorder to get the remaining 63 gigs, because i only have win xp pro and then i have to update it inorder to reach the minimum of sp1.
The hard drive is a Western Digital 200 gig drive.

Hi ! I think you have to use the windows CD and format / patition it for 200 gig.
And why don't you update your XP to both service pac 1 and 2?
Those 2 service pacs, holds both program updates and important security updates.

you will need to partition it with a computer running sp1 or higher. if you dont have one, you can try (no guarantee of sucess here) to partition it to your convenience so you can add or change the last partition to include the remaining space. i would strongly discourage fiddling with active partitions, but unused ones are safe enough. anyway, make c at least 20g, doesnt matter what the partitions are after that. then after installing xp and updating to sp1, try to adjust the size of the last partition to include the remainder. use xp to do this, or something like partition magic.

I'd highly reccomend partition magic, I've used them before and was extremely satisfied

Many systems have a 137 gb HD limit. How old is your system?
