Soundcard Problem

Guess I need put this on now.
I have a Soundblaster Live! sound card, with driver version 5.12.1.203 (the one that came with the computer. I did not update the drivers at all). Recently, I attempted to update the drivers to the sound card. I downloaded the latest drivers off the Creative! website (a 23.3 Mb download), but when I attempted to apply the upgrade, the following error came up:

"Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster Audio card on your system.

Please ensure that your Sound Blaster hardware is properly installed before running this Setup program.

Setup will now exit."

Please help me upgrade. Thanks.

Have you tried uninstall the card in device manager ( if it's there) + reboot ?

Tried that. Didn't work.

This thing is causing periodic crashes of True Crime Streets of LA on my computer, right at the beginning. I have the latest video card drivers, so it has to be the sound card ones. Any other help will be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Try a registry repair software.

But be prepaired to scan, repair 15 and do it again many times.
There are no sutch freeware you see. only trials.
