data loss

pleez is there miracles out there?
I have quick formatted one of my hard drives while there's still data on it. I know that a quick format doesn't really erases or overwrites the data, but erases the data index. Is there a way to restore the index so I can retrieve my valuables? Or could someone advise me on how to restore the data?
I'm using winXP with NTFS and using the program Easy recovery didn't solve the problem. It did't even see any data to recover!
