I am completely stupid when it comes to computers. I just bought a NEC ND3520 DVD burner and plugged it into my computer. However, whenever I start my computer it freezes at the desktop screen. I have not downloaded any drivers because i can't find them on the NEC website. What do i need to do to get this thing to work?

Hi!

I have the same DVD burner as you. ( Good choise, by the way. lol).

Is this the only DVD rom or CD rom you got installed in your PC?

Did you connect it to a separate IDE cable or is it on the same one as the harddrive? And if you did. Did you set the jumper on the backside of the DVD as "Slave"?

If this is the only one. Did you set the jumper to " Master" on the NEC?

What does the Windows device manager say about the DVD? Is it saying its working correctly?

You have to excuse all this questions, but I must ask them to know.
And I don't think, that the driver is the issue here.
